HYPNOTHERAPY

HYPNOTHERAPY is a psychological therapy that is distinctive in that it deals with the subconscious mind – the place where memories and behaviour patterns are stored.

THE AIM OF HYPNOTHERAPY is to assist people in finding meaningful alternatives to their present unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling or behaving.

Examples of things that can be treated using hypnotherapy: Stress, anxiety, panic, phobias, unwanted habits and addictions, disrupted sleep, lack of confidence, low self esteem, weight management, smoking cessation.

 

 

The therapist usually requires the client to be in a relaxed state and uses guided relaxation techniques to achieve this. It is generally helpful if the client is personally motivated to change.

Virtually everyone can be hypnotised, although this does require a willingness by the client to be hypnotised. Hypnosis is not magic and is not imposed upon a client against their wishes. Hypnosis depends upon good rapport and trust and confidence by the client in the therapist.
