Stress Reduction

Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is used to heal physical and mental trauma and to support spiritual well-being. Reiki is a practice of transmitting healing energy through the hands of the practitioner to the recipient.

We live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows uninterrupted there is balance and harmony within and around us and we experience a deep sense of well-being.

Conversely when this energy flow becomes disrupted, when times are tough we can feel overwhelmed or disconnected. Sometimes there is a sense of isolation, both emotionally and spiritually.

The relaxing nature of Reiki can be very helpful to people during difficult times. Reiki can bring feelings of peace, centeredness and an ability to cope better with life’s challenges. It can bring a sense of comfort, acceptance and a more positive outlook. 

Reiki is a practice of transmitting healing energy through the hands of the practitioner to the recipient whilst the client relaxes, fully clothed on the massage couch. The practitioner gently places their hands in a series of positions on or near the body. There is no massage or manipulation. The whole person is treated rather than specific areas. 

There are variations of Reiki but in essence Reiki can help the body, mind, emotions and spirit. It is open to any belief system and has no foundations in religion. 

Typically a session lasts 45 – 60 minutes.
