GUIDELINE TO TRAINING AS AN USUI A REIKI PRACTITIONER WITH HELEN.

Reiki is taught to students in 3 levels, as described below. I choose to keep teachings to only 1 or 2 students offering a very individual experience where the day is less overwhelming. Working with energy can be very powerful and for someone new to energy work large groups can be intoxicating and over stimulating. I choose to teach this way to protect and support my students who can then enjoy their learning experience fully. We all feel energy slightly differently and in a large group it is easy to feel “less-than” or as if we are not as good as others, when in truth we are all equally able to give Reiki healing, once attuned.

Because of the small classes it is possible to complete each level in one day.

Reiki level one (first degree)

Reiki 1 is the entry level to the practice, a foundation in Reiki. It develops connection to the universal energy, and is primarily used for self-healing and the healing of loved ones. It involves an attunement by a Reiki master to enable one to channel the Reiki energy. At level 1 you will learn the basic hand positions and begin to understand the chakra system. This course opens your energy channels to promote physical and emotional healing. You will learn self-healing techniques, and will be drawn to a better way of living, such as daily meditation, eating better and moving more.

Reiki level 2 (second degree)

During reiki 2 the focus is upon strengthening the practitioner’s connection to Reiki. A further attunement by a Reiki master is carried out, which opens the heart chakra and increases the intensity of the healing energy. Students learn 3 traditional Reiki symbols which are used when giving treatment to others. With the completion of this level, practitioners can obtain insurance and begin working with paying clients. Focus can be on specific conditions. It can remove limiting beliefs and those attuned can process emotions in a healthier way. After Reiki 2 attunement the practitioner can also provide reiki over long distances or send healing energy wherever it may be needed in the world.

Reiki level 3 (Master level)

This is the final stage of Usui Reiki training for the practitioner (unless you wish to teach/attune others, in which case there are additional symbols to be attuned to)

Level 3 focuses on the spiritual level of self, deep personal spiritual growth and high frequency energy work. It enables practitioners to use master symbols and boosts healing power. It requires a big “step up” in the spiritual outlook of the practitioner, and requires that they deep dive into their treatment of others. No room remains to be judgemental or critical of others and loose gossip mut be curtailed to truly become Reiki. This level represents a commitment to living the principles of Reiki, often described as a journey toward self-empowerment and becoming the energy itself rather than just practicing it, and embodying the calm grounded presence of a Reiki master.

Not all practitioners bother to progress through to level 3 yet for others it feels like completion; it definitely deepens and accentuates the healing energies.
